When it comes to loading a WinBin there is a RIGHT and a WRONG way to load. Below we’ve listed 5 tips to make your job easier and safer.

1. Load the bin evenly

For safe loading, travel and dumping it is very important to load the bin as evenly as possible with your debris. This prevents the weight being all on one side of the bin and tipping. When the bin is loaded onto our WinBins truck it can tip over to one side if all the weight of the debris is on one side of the bin. This is unsafe and can damage your property and the truck. The same is true for dumping.

2. Never load gas or Propane Tanks into your bin.

There is a proper place to recycle your gas and propane tanks. Consult with 311 to find the nearest depot. They are not permitted in any WinBin. If they aren’t transported with care and properly secured it could cause grave harm.

3. Wear the proper footwear when loading.

If you are loading up your bin with Reno or roofing debris that contains nails and screws we highly recommend the correct footwear for the job. Footwear featuring a steel shank in the foot plate prevents nails and screws from piercing your foot when stepped on. We also recommend steel toe caps.

4. Hi-Vis Clothing When loading in dark or high traffic

If your WinBin dumpster is dropped on a road or you plan to do your loading at night wearing Hi-Vis and reflective clothing can save your life. We recommend hi-vis clothing to help drivers and the public at large see you while you go in and around the container. Only cross into traffic when safe to do so. Carry appropriate size loads so not to spill any on the roadways. Keep a broom handy just in case.

5. Proper Clean-Up

After you’re done loading your bin and it has been removed proper clean-up of your job site is important. Constructions is done, time to get back to life…..first make sure the area is broom clean. If this is not possible “ei grass” we suggest laying out a tarp on the area before construction begins to get keep the area clean of debris.
