The demand for bin rentals continue despite the cold temperatures and snowfall during the winter in Winnipeg.

Below are a few tips to make your winter bin rental as easy and simple as possible.

1. Prior to your bin drop-off, clear a space on your driveway so that there is a flat area where the bin can be dropped during the rental period.  Remove and ice or snow and ensure there will be walking and working access around the bin so that you can safely fill it without falling or slipping.

2. Colder temperatures bring snow and ice, which can be slippery and hard to gain traction on when you walk or drive on affected areas. If these slippery areas are near your bin, you will want to clear any snow and salt the area to ensure no one slips as they load the bin or pass by on foot or in vehicle.

3. Cover your bin if snow fall is expected so that the dumpster does not fill with snow or ice.

4. Use gloves when handling a metal bin to avoid coming into contact with frozen steel. Injuries can occur if you expose bare skin to frozen metal.
